Specifications · Cover boards- Cover boards are used to secure our boards and should be treated as a packaging item. There are 2 boards on top and bottom of each pack of boards to protect boards while in transit. Cover board also bear the pressure coming from straps and the bearers at the bottom. (Please see the attached images of our board packs and cover boards, Top and bottom sheets are the cover boards). · Spec – Boards should be of packaging grade. Strength should be the key attribute. Surface finish is not a major concern as long as they do not harm the actual products. · Formaldehyde emission – E1 is preferred; E2 may be acceptable considering the use is for packaging. Keen to get pricing for both. · Use of boards – We start using the cover boards when a pack is get made at our plants and then the packs get distributed across the country. Cover boards get reused wherever possible. Hence the boards should be stronger. · Sizes and volumes - Below are the major sizes of cover boards and estimated annual volumes. · Thickness- Current thickness of boards are 10 mm, However if the boards are stronger thickness can be reduced. · Material – Current cover board material is particle board or MDF- We are not concerned about the material as long as necessary strength is there. (Plastic, PVC , Plywood could be other options) · Shipping – Boards will be imported in container lots. ( maximise container utilization) · Delivery locations –Dardanup in Western Australia and Gympie in Queensland · Logistic process – Once the containers arrive at the closest port, the containers will be delivered to a 3rd party deport close to the port . At the deport the containers will be unpacked and packs will be road transported to above locations ( above locations are at least 150Km are away from the port). As such the packaging of boards should be safer, compliant and easy to handle. · Thickness, we are trying to standardise the thickness to 10 mm. · Dust free – if not suction equipment get blocked · Density higher the better as sufficient weight is required to suck the boards · Material- while PB/MDF is what we use now you can look for other materials as well like plastics if the price is cheaper |
